Ibn Battouta Airport sits fifteen kilometres southwest of the city in Boukhalef, and there is no train, no tram and no dependable airport bus — which leaves you negotiating a fare in a car park after a three-hour flight.
Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with your name on a printed sign, usually before you clear passport control. He carries your bags and drives you directly to your door: a business hotel on Boulevard Mohammed VI, a beach apartment in Malabata, or the closest gate to a riad deep in the old medina where no vehicle can reach.
