Tangier Airport Transfer

A pre-booked Tangier airport transfer solves the one part of arriving in Morocco that reliably goes wrong. Ibn Battouta Airport sits fifteen kilometres southwest of the city in Boukhalef, and there is no train, no tram and no dependable airport bus — which leaves you negotiating a fare in a car park after a three-hour flight.

Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall with your name on a printed sign, usually before you clear passport control. He carries your bags and drives you directly to your door: a business hotel on Boulevard Mohammed VI, a beach apartment in Malabata, or the closest gate to a riad deep in the old medina where no vehicle can reach.

How your Tangier airport transfer works

We track your flight number automatically. If you land forty minutes late, nobody charges you for it and nobody leaves. You get sixty minutes of free waiting from the moment the wheels touch down, which covers a slow baggage belt and a long passport queue on a busy evening.

Once you are through customs, walk straight ahead into the arrivals hall. Do not go outside to the rank — that is a separate service at a separate price. The day before you travel we send you the driver’s name, his photograph and his phone number by WhatsApp, so there is no guessing.

Going the other way

For departures, leave your hotel two and a half hours before an international flight and one hour forty-five before a domestic one. The Boukhalef road backs up badly between five and seven in the evening; if you have an evening flight we will propose an earlier pickup and explain why.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Tangier airport?

Official airport taxis generally ask between 200 and 400 dirhams depending on the hour, your luggage and how the negotiation goes. Night fares run higher. A pre-booked transfer is a fixed number agreed before you fly.

Is there a bus or train from Ibn Battouta Airport?

No. There is no rail link at all and no reliable public bus. In practice your options are a pre-booked private transfer or an airport taxi negotiated on arrival.

Can you reach my riad inside the medina?

Vehicles cannot enter most of the old medina. We drop at the nearest accessible gate — usually Bab el-Kasbah or the Grand Socco — and can arrange a porter with a cart. Send us your riad name and we will confirm the exact point before you travel.

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

Delays are tracked and cost you nothing. If a flight is cancelled outright, tell us as soon as you know and we will move the booking to your new arrival at no charge.

Do you provide child seats?

Yes, free of charge. Give us the children’s ages when you book so we send the right seat.

Arriving by sea instead? See our Tangier Ville port and train station transfer or the Tanger Med port transfer. Heading straight to the mountains from the airport, take the Tangier to Chefchaouen transfer. Practical arrival information for Morocco is published by the Moroccan National Tourist Office.
