A Tangier to Marrakech transfer is six hundred kilometres and about seven hours of driving — the full length of Morocco’s Atlantic motorway, from the Strait of Gibraltar to the edge of the High Atlas. It is a long day and we will not pretend it is anything else.
What it is not is unpleasant. In a comfortable vehicle with a driver who runs the route regularly, a Tangier to Marrakech transfer beats the overnight train comfortably, and it deposits you at your riad gate rather than at Marrakech station at an awkward hour with luggage.

Every Tangier to Marrakech transfer uses a long-distance vehicle with reclining seats, air conditioning and a licensed multilingual driver. All tolls and fuel for the full six hundred kilometres are inside the quoted figure, along with two scheduled stops of about thirty minutes each, at Kenitra and near Settat, both with food and clean facilities.
The medina in Marrakech is largely closed to vehicles, so a Tangier to Marrakech transfer ends at the nearest accessible point to your riad — most often near Jemaa el-Fnaa, Bab Doukkala or Bab Laksour. Send us the riad name and we confirm the point before you travel. For hotels in Gueliz or the Hivernage we drive to the door.
If you value time above everything, fly. A Tangier to Marrakech private car makes sense when you have luggage, a group, an awkward departure time, or you want to see Rabat or Casablanca on the way — and it removes two airport transfers, two check-ins and two security queues from the day.
On request we substitute a half-day of sightseeing for one of the comfort stops, which turns a Tangier to Marrakech private car into a travelling day rather than a transit day. Rabat suits this best: the Kasbah of the Udayas and the Hassan Tower sit close together and close to the motorway.
Some travellers prefer a two day transfer with an overnight in Rabat, continuing the next morning. We arrange it at a reduced daily rate, and it is the option we suggest to anyone travelling with young children or with a full schedule waiting at the other end.

The two day transfer with an overnight covers the vehicle and driver for both days and the driver’s own accommodation. Your hotel is separate and you choose it. Seven hours of driving split across two mornings is a different experience entirely from seven hours in one sitting.

Marrakech back to Tangier runs at the same rates. The driver overnights rather than turning round the same day — both because the law requires it and because nobody should drive twelve hundred kilometres in twenty-four hours.
If your itinerary runs north to south once, a one-way Tangier to Marrakech transfer is what you want and there is no penalty for it. If you are coming back the same week, ask about the return rate — it is lower than two singles, and the same driver keeps the vehicle for the period, which matters on a route where you will spend a full working day in the back seat.
About 600 kilometres, roughly seven hours of driving on motorway.
Yes, and for families we usually recommend it. A two day transfer with an overnight in Rabat is the natural halfway version.
Only to the nearest accessible gate — the old town is largely vehicle-free. Riads routinely send a porter with a cart.
Door to door, usually yes, and always so with luggage or a group. The overnight train is cheaper and considerably less comfortable.
Send us the date, pickup address, riad or hotel name in Marrakech, passenger count and number of large bags. We reply with a fixed price, usually within the hour.
However you split it, a Tangier to Marrakech transfer is the one journey where the vehicle you sit in genuinely decides how the day feels. Stopping in the capital instead? See Tangier to Rabat or Tangier to Casablanca. If Fes is on your route, see the Tangier to Fes transfer. The medina you arrive in is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and national travel guidance is published by the Moroccan National Tourist Office.
